Anyone who’s diving into this week’s Fortnite Battle Pass Challenges will know that one of the requirements is to watch a match replay. Now, that might seem like an easy feat, but several of us have tried in the GamesRadar office and there’s definitely an issue with the Fortnite replay challenge not working.
Usually this would be a nice easy challenge to kick things off, with Match Replays available from the Career Tab of the main Battle Royale screen. All you’d usually need to do is go in there, select a game and then jump back in to relive your victories… or equally impressive defeats.
But, even watching replays of games we’ve only played since the update went live this morning, we’re having no joy completing the challenge. According to both Reddit and the official Epic Games forums, we’re not alone.
Epic Games tweeted out last night that there were some issues with v4.2 that may affect some challenges, which we’ve had confirmation includes the Fortnite replay challenge issue not working.
We’ve discovered an issue that’s going to delay the release of v4.2. Due to this delay some quests may not function until the build releases. We’ll update you once we have a more accurate time frame.May 15, 2018
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time players have had issues with the replay tools, with complaints of corrupted files, and other issues. Epic Games was quick to fix the issues, so hopefully that’s a sign of things to come for this particular quirk.
Thankfully, the other Fortnite Season 4 challenges are all working, but are more complex to complete than simply watching a match replay. One of them requires hunting down 10 adorable rubber duckies, which are hidden around the map, pretty similar to how the Fortnite Gnome locations worked back in Season 3. There’s also a treasure map to follow in Salty Springs.
As for the replay, because it’s currently not functioning we’re can’t be sure how it’s going to work but we’d guess it should be as simple as going into the replay menu loading it up and then immediately quitting out. But you might be required to actually watch one so the fastest way to do this is to enter a game, get killed (go to Tilted Towers and stand in the open) and then load up that replay and fast forward it by hitting up on the d-pad. It should be done in seconds and once you get to the end quit and claim your battle points. Buuuuut, it’s not working, so we’ll keep you posted on that one.
